I am out at Stone Mountain walking on the trail to Indian Island. Just completed a bike ride testing out my refurbished mountain bike. Found that I am really out of bike shape, if I start riding more it should help my running fitness.
I just kind of ramble on about various things as I walk. I hope you enjoy my rambling. Of course, you could send me some feedback to tell me what you would like to hear.

My first podcast in a very long time. I am at Bethesda Park today recording this podcast as I walk, I will be running after I finish recording.
I give you an update on what has been happening lately. Not all good.
Ran a short trail race last weekend even though I really wasn't in race shape.
Talk some about upcoming races that I have registered for, now I need to start training.
Getting my mountain bike refurbished so I can ride some with my son.
Some ideas on what I would like to do with my bike in the future.

I ran with my Daughter Laura on the Greenway Trail, we hadn't recorded in a long time so we did on this run. As usual we just rambled on as we ran.

I started out Peachtree morning driving to Ansley Mall to park. I normally leave my car there and walk to the Art Center MARTA station (MARTA is Atlanta's rapid rail system) to catch the train to the start of the race. By the way it is about a 2 mile walk.
This year I decided to do something different. I went into Starbucks and got a cup of coffee then came outside and contacted Uber on my iPhone app. Uber came and picked me up and took me to the start. Nice relaxing morning, a cup of coffee and a nice ride to the start. Think I will do it again next year.
I started in Time Group J this year, which is pretty far back in the race. I didn't have any pressure to run fast, so I didn't. In fact I ran about 10 minutes slower than last year. My official time was 75:22, that is about a 12 min pace.
There were weather concerns this year, the Yellow caution flag was up at the start and by the time I got to mile 3 of the race the flag had been changed to Red. I guess that was because the humidity was at about 90% and the temp was 75º. Good excuse to slow down, but I was already running slow so the humidity didn't really bother me that much.
I briefly attended two after P'Tree parties, one that the Atlanta Track Club had at Piedmont Park then the second one at Ansley Mall that Jeff Galloway had after the race.
I am planning on starting a 5K training plan in order to get a little speed back. Just a little.

Update time, I seem to have hurt my back. I don't know if it was a result of the 9 days + of riding my bike trainer or old age or both.
Anyway I seem to have recovered using ibuprofen and stretching, and I have been able to get some runs in even though they have been slower than usual.

I headed out to the trail at Stone Mountain and did a little walking with my trekking poles. I have had them for a while but haven't used them much. I think I will add a couple of walks a week using the poles. I seem to be able to get my heart rate up a little higher using the poles.

The 2nd day: Saturday Dec. 12th I attended an "Extra Mile Podcast" listerners meet up.
The 3rd day: Sunday Dec. 13th I ran the JG 13.1 through Atlanta finishing in Piedmont Park.
